Friday Introductions

Linking UP

here

Happy Friday ya'll! I know I have some new people around these parts, so I thought I would take the opportunity to re-introduce myself.

Hi, I'm Lynn… I started blogging back in 2011 right after I took the Texas Bar Exam.  I was a newlywed who was about to embark upon a new career as a civil lawyer. It just seemed like the perfect time to start a blog.

Fast forward 7 years and here I am.  A lot has happened in that time.  First, I went through a divorce in 2013 and myself single and 30.  Then I met my now husband (little known fact, I was introduced to him by the same person who introduced me to my first husband).

About a year into dating, I left my first firm and took a job in Big Law in Dallas. I was commuting everyday for over an hour each way.  Then I found out I was pregnant.  Yup, a month into a new job and bam preggo!(This was slightly scary and exciting).

So, the hubs and I got married in December of 2014.

E was born in April of 2015.

After my maternity leave, I went back to work for 3 weeks and just could not do it with the commute and the hubs working longer hours.

So, I went back to the Fort to a firm for a year.  The longest year of my life!  It was not my dream job, but it got me less of commute.  After a year I knew I needed more time with my sweet girl and to me more present.  On a whim and prayer I left private practice for the government sector. I have loved every minute of it.  It was a big mindset change, but its been the best decision ever!

I love the work I do and the people I work with.  Cannot complain.

In my spare time... lol I know, I teach baton twirling and dance a the studio were E takes.  I was a baton twirler beginning at age 2 so its a huge part of my life.  I am also a member of the Junior League and sit on the board of the Women's Attorney section of the local bar association.

And, my latest venture just kind of fell in my lap.  I admit I have always wanted to own my own business.  I just never seemed to find the right fit or the timing wasn't good.  I also hate MLM schemes so when I was presented with becoming a Beachbody coach I was hesitant and said no for a year.  Then I said, wait I just want the discount! So, I signed up for the discount aspect and then realized I loved it. And it doesn't hurt that it provides extra spending money for activities for E.

Blogging has been such a huge part of my life these past 7 years.  I have met some of the greatest friends...

So, what do I blog about?  Just about everything.  Motherhood, wife life, parenthood, health and fitness, whatever pops into my head. So, glad to have you around these parts and hope to connect! Let me know where you're reading from and where to check you out!
