The One Where I Started a Blog

Ever since I returned to blogging, I have been asked a lot of questions and I love it! Some are from those of you who have followed my blog from the beginning, some are from those of you thinking of starting your own blog & then there are those of you who are curious about what in the world blogging is about and why I do it. Regardless of the reasons behind the questions, I am going to answer some of the most-asked questions and get them answered for you!

If there’s a question I don’t cover, let us me know and I will answer it for you.

WHY DID YOU START BLOGGING

I have answered this one before, but I started blogging after I took the Texas Bar Exam and wanted to chronicle my new chapter in life.  I was newly married, renovating, and about to start my new career as a lawyer.  I wrote my first blog post while on a vacation in St. John with my ex-husband.  He had no clue what I was doing and neither did I.

I started as Young.Married.Professional and then quickly moved to Illegally Blonde.

I had several different designs and layouts and my writing changed and I made friends.  I blogged for my outlet and kept blogging because of the friends I made.

HOW DO YOU FIND THE TIME

I have a real, full-time job as a lawyer.  I also raise a 3 year old, teach baton twirling and volunteer with the Junior League. Oh, and I keep a home made.  I blog either in the evenings while I watch TV, in the early mornings, or on the weekends.  I try to plan out my posts in advance so I have some idea of what I am trying to say, but then there are the times I just blog what comes to me.  With the addition of E, the blog did suffer. I actually quit for almost 2 years.  But then I realized how much I missed it.

WHAT ARE YOU LONG TERM GOALS WITH YOUR BLOG

None.  I have not a single goal.  I do not blog to make money, or get free products.  I blog for me and no one else.  So, I am glad that you show you up and read and interact.

WHAT DOES YOUR HUSBAND THINK OF IT

When I first met my husband, he thought it was weird. He is extremely private and is not on Facebook and only got Instagram to see photos of our own kid.  He didn't want to be shown on the blog, and I was respectful of that.  Now, he is much more understanding.  He knows that my best friends are from blogging and didn't blink an eye when I go to meet them and see them or when P!nky was my matron of honor in our wedding.  He has even contributed to the Blog and is working on a new post about being a new dad.

HOW DO YOU FIND CONTENT

This is the hardest part.  Sometimes I go from a good list of posts, other times I do link ups and then there are the times I write about what I think people want to hear about.  I also write about my life.  You all know I am pretty open and raw here and I think you all appreciate that.  It is how we connect.  I truly believe that is how I formed such good friendships with P!nky, Jenn, Jessica, Brittany & Danielle.

So, what else do you want to know?  What do you want to see on the blog?  Motherhood? Parenting? Fitness?  Makeup?

Leave me some comments here or on Instagram.
